Manager Works & Services

Council is in search of an individual who will strive, in partnership with Council's Chief Executive Officer and our community, to oversee the Management of Council's Operations including Engineering, Parks, Gardens, Caravan Park, Swimming Pool, Capital Works programmes, Footpaths, Reserves and Road Maintenance Programmes.

Notes on the Recruitment Process

Job applications are to be submitted either in person at the Shire Administration office or via email as per the Application Package.

The Shire of Kellerberrin reserves the right to close an advertisement early should a suitable candidate be found. 

Your application is an opportunity to create the best first impression to the Selection Panel. It is important that you set aside time to read all the requirements in the position description and develop a competitive application. This will assist the Panel in shortlisting applicants for interview.

Please ensure you:

  • Complete all details requested in the application package,
  • Address the selection criteria (if applicable)
  • Attach a resume and cover letter addressing your suitability for the role. 

Your resume should include relevant work history, education, training, qualifications and professional memberships.

Make sure your application:

  • Is prepared so that it relates specifically to the position you are applying for,
  • Is lodged by the closing date.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by phone and invited to attend an interview and unsuccessful applicants will receive an email notification.

Before attending an interview, review your application and the job advertisement and position description. Review the selection criteria and duties of the position and recall examples of situations where you have demonstrated the relevant skills and requirements. Note what your role was in each situation, actions you took and the outcomes or results achieved.

Successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical to determine their suitability for the position they have applied for. Work-related referees will also be contacted. You will be requested to provide these if you have not done so already with your application.

Other pre-employment checks may also be conducted at this stage dependent on the role which may include a National Police Clearance, relevant licences, verification of qualifications and identity checks.
