Railway Station
When the railway line was upgraded to a standard gauge line Westrail built a new station on the eastern outskirts of town. Residents found this inconvenient and a community project was undertaken to build a new station back in the center of town. This station was constructed by volunteer community labour and opened on 18th March 1995.
