Kellerberrin Shire Council provides a range of services and facilities for residents to protect and enhance our environment, and to plan for the future needs of our community. Council's functions are diverse and it is a complex task to manage effectively a public organisation in the context of limited resources and changing needs and expectations.

The Future Plan brings together in one document our proposed plans for the management of all our activities, facilities, resources, capital works and services.

Each principal activity has an overall purpose and a set of objectives, targets and performance measures as well as a statement of means and estimated cost and revenue funding for the particular activity. The objectives stated in the plan do not cover every function performed by Council. Instead, they indentify those areas where a significant change is proposed or foreshadow a proposed shift in resource allocation.

Accompanying each principal activity is a statement of services provided and the projected income and expenditure for the particular year. This shows the true cost of providing the particular service.

The plan has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the 1995 Local Government Act and will be reviewed on an annual basis. It is a legislative requirement to report on Council’s proposed Principal Activities Plan for the 2005/06 Budget.

Therefore, in accordance with Section 5.53 of the Local Government Act 1995 Council proposed to commence the following Future Plan in 2006/07.
