All building construction, alteration and demolition work must comply with the Building Code of Australia.

The builder and/or owner builder must advise the Building Surveyor during the course of construction so he can carry out routine inspections to ensure that the building is compliant and has been constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications previously approved under the Building Licence.
